eCommXpress is re-inventing itself as an business listing service. Originally conceived 1996 as an ecommerce software system to providing an integrated ecommerce plateform for small businesses, is changing its business model completely.

There are many "shopping carts" and many are free so eCommXpress's model just doesn't work today. What we have is a free listing service and business exchange where small and very small businesses can list and sell products. What is the difference in eCommXpress and something like eBay or Craig's List? Not a lot. Both are viable models. However, eCommXpress is strictly business listings, so you won't find individuals offering products. We think this is a good thing.

How does the exchange thing work? Most businesses have inventory they either have discounted in their stores or marked as clearance. They may simply have too much inventory and need to reduce that inventory. eCommXpress can provide the mechanism where you can have several businesses party to a trade and it uses US dollars instead of the dubuis "exchange credits" of other exchange system. We use real money.
